Day 15: Incubator – SEO

Behind Schedule Sigh.. I am officially behind. Day 15 of StomperNet Incubator’s lesson gave a surprise by presenting a 45-page PDF file full of tips and how-to’s on how Ross Goldberg does SEO. The surprise is appreciated. From the comments I am reading, it promises to be a practical, meaty PDF file. But when I started reading it, the words just went by my head as I don’t have a website to apply this on yet.

The ongoing issue between Paypal and StomperNet has withheld me from getting access to the tools like Market Samurai and the tool I had concluded I will use to build my website, StomperCommerce. In fairness, my classmates who paid via credit card have no issues similar to mine. And Paypal is a recent subscription payment system adopted by StomperNet. Their support people are very nice and told me that everyone who used Paypal are experiencing the same thing. I was also advised to wait for the Paypal issue to resolve itself before shifting to paying by credit card so as to avoid complicating matters. The support person did say that they will extend the membership once it gets resolved. This gesture is nice but my 90-day goals are in jeopardy and emotionally, this is very discouraging right now.

Be part of the solution instead of the problem.

Honestly, I sometimes want to just throw this tough life lesson out the window… Granted that the withheld software tools really are just bonuses. The teaching of the concepts is there and from the conversations I’ve had with fellow Stompers (who are not faculty) – these concepts work in real life. There is no problem with the teaching – just that the tools that make life easier are not available for me. It is now a question of how badly I want to achieve the goals I set out to do.

This would have been easier too if I had the resources to outsource the making of the website. I don’t see any other way around it. I will have to build the website myself – the hard way.

So from here on out, the days will no longer correspond to the Days that the Incubator lessons come out as I don’t think it helps any without my having a website to associate the Incubator lessons to.
